AM Equipment AM Equipment is a second tier supplier of windshield wiper systems and fractional horsepower motors. In 1953 the company was founded as Albany Magneto Equipment, an auto electric repair facility. In the 1970s change started and AM Equipment became the company identity as wholesaler of electrical parts to the young RV and boat industries. Windshield wiper systems became a focus for the company in the 1980s using purchased components. In the first years of the new century, AM Equipment emerged as a manufacturer of the components used in windshield wiper systems and of a gear head motors powering electric steps to satellite dishes. ISO certification came as result of improvements in AM Equipment's quality systems. Having direct control over processes and products allow AM Equipment to improve value to customers.

With the decline of the RV and boat industries, new focus customers in agriculture, mining, transportation, delivery and fire truck were found. AM Equipment Engineering developed components and systems for the new customer base. The focus is always on quality and improvement for the sake of AM Equipment customers. Today, nearly half of AM Equipment products are newly developed and some are already to the market and others nearly to market. All of the new products are configurable and will support better order fulfillment by lean thinking. AM Equipment is a "job shop" building to order. After the huge decline in 2008-2009, AM Equipment is growing very rapidly, and is looking forward to capitalizing on many new domestic and global opportunities.
